Restaurant table settings are one of my top 5 favorite places to draw, coming in somewhere between sketchbooks and my hands.

This might have made more sense at dinner tonight when all the arrows pointed outward as well to show all of the foods on the table that were going into Monster Child's mouth. It was a bit too large to knife cut out of the table so I just took him instead.

More stuff
I haven't been posting much online and I should. I'm drawing all the time but the posting has slowed...time to once again vow to change that!

Here's a quick sketch I did for a stuffed creature I plan on making for my friend's soon to be newborn. Note the "yellow-green non-gender specific" color palate. It says, he/she will love playing with his/her new toy!

It's totally in your face! I just jumped onto this 3D bandwagon and man have I been missing out! Put on your specs and let the illustration you see above dazzle your brain! We've been doing a few test projects at work in glorious 3D and I might have let that influence me a bit. I didn't plan to make it in 3D but I was already working on making a ghost image to lay over top. It must have been subliminally influenced.
On another note, (totally unrelated to anything, especially the image here) I just wrapped on a 9 month project at work directing a pilot for a kids show. I'm really proud of it and want to thank everyone who was involved! I can't post anything here just yet but pretty soon I'll have a link to it as well as some artwork and maybe even some info about the process.
Also, just when I thought I'd get some sleep, my overambitious nature gave way and I was accepted to a new craft fair at the end of September. I'll be in the Maker Faire at the Bust Magazine booth! It's being held on the old World's Fair grounds in Queens, NY! How sweet is that? Answer: Pretty sweet! So, there's one more reason why I might not be posting updates too often in the next 30 days. Until then, or the next update, have a good one! Heck, treat yourself, have two.

It's been a significant amount of time since the last post, so I thought I'd do something different. Why the frame? Why the silly reflection? Why the fairy? Something different all 'round. I haven't stopped drawing, it's the posting thing I seem to have difficulty with...oh yeah, and drawing "pretty" women. Either way, life is busy! I'm wrapping up on a pilot for a kids show that I've been directing. It's been almost 9 months and this baby's ready to pop out! By the way, that has nothing to do with the picture above. I met this little lady on a bus ride back to Jersey from D.C. this past weekend. She smelled like artificial blueberries.

It's been too long since I've posted something. It seems like it always is. As usual, it's not because I haven't been doing anything post worthy, it's because...well, I was about to get into how little time I have in my days right now and how posting takes a while and well, that's just lame. I should just post more. I did just move into a new apartment and set up a nice little studio space here. It's almost finished, I'll post photos when it's done. Until then, here's a preview of the next limited edition print I'm working on. I'm thinking of opening an Etsy store just for my artwork. It's been a work in progress for a few years now and I think it's time to share things with the world. More on that as it evolves. The title for the new piece is "Celebration of a Grean"
Ok, time for hot dogs and True Blood. I'm still not sure if I like the show but the foot-longs are delicious!

My friend Chelsea Dodd is leaving Hoboken for greener pastures. I want to wish her the best in luck and life. If you have a moment, you should check out her delicious recipe book "Coffee Mug Cakes." It's pretty awesome and she did it all herself. She's very talented and deserving of your money.

Welcome to the new year. It looks like I took January off but the ideas haven't stopped coming. It's time to draw more...and I do mean more. Time to focus and challenge myself. Oh, random, thanks to my friend Eddie K. for putting one of my doodles on a shirt and sporting it this past weekend. That was flattering and trippy. I hope everyone is having a good start to the new year!

2009 was a pretty good year. It doesn't feel like we're approaching a new decade. What will we refer to this decade as? Was this the 0's? That sounds pretty lame. How will people sum up this decade? Will we be the web2.0 years or the autotunies. I hope neither stick. Speaking of years and naming conventions I propose that we get back on track and call this new year 2010 twenty-ten. Not two thousand ten. I miss the good old days of "nineteen-anything."
Unrelated to anything, the image above is an amalgam of back and forth drawings created by myself and my friend Ziggy Blumenthal. He drew the first one, I saw it, liked it and decided to do my take on it....after not looking at it for about an hour. Obviously I might have gotten a few things wrong but that's where the charm was. (that's what I kept telling myself) What ensued was a series of drawings created alternately with only one rule: After you see the previous image briefly, draw your interpretation. Some were spaced out over several hours. The longer the time, the more the "charm."
I don't have a snappy closing line for 2009. That wasn't meant to rhyme. Neither was that. Happy New Year everybody!!!

Santa Claus is coming...It's not a threat, honest. Common misconception, he doesn't have a sack full of toys. He carries the presents in his hump and burps them out when he arrives under your tree.
