Tee-heeeee! Winter is here at last! I like a good snowfall once in a while, partially because it reminds me of being a kid and partially because it reminds me of how much I love summer. And with that...January is no more. It's been a quick month, thanks to everyone for continuing to check out my random doodles!

Here's a line drawing glimpse of what I was working on for today's doodle but I haven't had a chance to color it...Of course if it's colored and you're reading this, that means you are in the future. (Is it too optimistic to hope that cars can fly by now?) I hope I did a good job. Here in the past, I'm getting tired and ready to bed down. Hooray for sleep!

P.S. I finally had the chance to break in my new watercolor pencils! Pip pip!

I often wonder about things such as, if Clifford kept on growing at an alarming rate...at what point would he become a threat to humanity? There would eventually come a time when he would need to be put to sleep just to save the world from possible adorable destruction. The only benefit to this is that for a short time, we could help ease world hunger...

If I ever become famous enough where MTV wants me to be on their show "Cribs" I think I'm gonna take them to IKEA. Even if my real house is amazing and totally worth showing off. IKEA's great! I would take them on a tour of my 35 bedrooms, 26 bathrooms, and 15 or so offices. Plus they can watch as I sit in each of my 372 reclining leather and oak chairs while I eat sweedish meatballs.

" What's That?!? "

That, would be the sound I heard just over my shoulder while I was at a store looking into a bin of $10 self massagers. The woman pictured above was apparently fascinated with every shiny object within her scope of vision. She approached everything with a child-like curiosity...with her child. Her kid seemed to have more self control and understanding than she did as she continued to scream, "Danm! What's that?!?" to every little chatchke she could find. Marvelous.

There's Supposed To Be Two...

So this one is for my friend Joe. I know the hair is all wrong but I just got a bit carried away. It was late and I was tired...

There's one in every family...and if you disagree than you should have a look in the mirror.
On an unrelated note, everybody should go check out my friend Krishna's Sketchbook diary. He's posted some great stuff relating to his online webcomic the PC Weenies!

Playground love can be great...but only if the other kids don't find out. For reals. They'll just make fun of you and tell you things like how your koodie shot has worn off. That shot was supposed to last a lifetime! Then you have to make sure you're still covered under your parent's health insurance plan so that you can get a booster shot. It's a big hassle that leaves you wondering if young love is even worth it.

Q: Aren't Grandma's Great?
A: Yes!
It's true, they laugh with you even if you're not funny...they tell you it'll all be ok when you cry...and they worry needlessly about you all the time. I suppose it comes with the job.

So I've been away from my computer for a few days but that hasn't stopped the doodles...just the posting of the doodles. I apologize to the five people who might be reading my blog on any sort of regular basis. That said, here's a bunch more for you all to enjoy!

So just the other day I got to talking with a total stranger about how I'm an animator. The man immediately replied, "Like Disney and stuff. So you probably want to work there, right?" Now I don't mind that too much, in fact that's probably the default response that most people give me. (That leads into another topic for another time.) What was noteworthy about this particular exchange is what he said next. "Wasn't Walt Disney an animator?" After an awkward brain-melting pause, I realized that this was not meant as a rhetorical or even sarcastic question. My response was, "Yeah, I think he was."

Edit: The drawing above has been featured in the top 10 highest rated drawings of an interpretation of Mickey Mouse on www.everybodyneeds2drawmickeyonce.com! If you haven't been to the site, it's well worth checking out.

I'm getting tired of watching people on television pretending to be happy. It's pissing me off. They try to make me feel bad about my life but it's not working. I can do that on my own, thank you very much.

The key is to keep them happy. Put as much crank in the water before you pour it on the soil and you'll have the most beautiful, cracked out flowers in the neighborhood. Just don't let them go cold turkey or you'll have their pollen driven wrath brought upon you.

Congratulations! You're the best loser!

A grown man (who doesn't work in children's television) who insists on calling himself "Handy Randy" came to my house today to begin a series of home improvements before we put it up on the market. He's a nice guy, I just can't bring myself to call him that.

Here's my entry for this week's Illustration Friday theme "80's." It's my tribute to one of the most iconic cinematic scenes to come out of the decade in my opinion. ("Say Anything") And what a great decade it was! I loved the films and music...I just don't want the fashion to come back. Sorry ladies, I'm just not a fan of big hair and leg warmers no matter how many people tell me it's sexy.

"She's got a great personality."

So my girlfriend (not pictured above) doesn't think that I have the ability to draw pretty gals. Well I've showed her...I just can't help it. It's just so much more fun and to me visually appealing to draw chicks such as the one above. In fact, if you look at my history of women I've drawn you might get the impression that I don't much care for them at all. That's unfortunate because I happen to be a fan of the ladies. Besides, you know that this lady from accounts receivable is probably the sweetest person you'll ever meet.

Dinosaurs....in Space!

Sure I make it look adorable, but in reality I think it would be a horrible idea. I mean that's not to say it wouldn't be freaking awesome! It's just that outer space already provides enough challenges to achieving the stability of life, perhaps putting mindless blood thirsty killing machines resurrected from millions of years ago up there might not be the smartest move.

Yeah, he's secure. What of it?

So last day/night/day/night I stayed up for 26 plus hours helping my girlfriend prepare images for an animation she's working on for a company that she's at. It was tedious and exhausting. I don't mind helping out, it just threw our body clocks all outta wack. I no longer sleep at ten and two. The encouraging part was that the voice over was done by James Earl Jones. So I figured hey, if he can step into a recording booth for an hour or so of tireless work than I should have no problem pushing on... and push on I did. Oh, and Rick, if you're reading this. We owe you big time....THANKS AGAIN!

So here's a drawing that I did to go with the Illustration Friday topic "Buzz." She's the first terrifying thing that popped into my head...and wouldn't leave until I drew her. The crazy aunt who's always way to excited about everything. Sure it's an old photo but she looks the same now as she did then. She lives for her cats and worn in cheesy sweaters. With her bad puns and intrusively inquisitive nature, you can't help but love the quirky lady who's somehow related to you.

Goal day celebration was great. I had some amazing food and lost at poker with some friends. I finally saw the complete 80's cinematic sensation "Say Anything." It was good in a cheesy kinda way. I'll be at work all day so that's why this is posted crazy early and now I'm tired so that's all I've got. This doodle was made after I lost the game.

So today is "Goal Day." For the past four months, I have been on a diet/lifestyle change. Basically, no soda/fried food/anything that tastes too good. But I've been doing fine and despite the frequent bathroom trips from the 39,592 glasses of water I drink a day, I'm enjoying where I'm at. If you ask anyone who knows me they would be confused as to why I felt that I needed this diet but I could see it and I always told them that I hid it well. All in all it's about 25lbs that I didn't need for hibernation.

I first met this little guy in an airport-waiting terminal. He wandered in and jumped into my brain by way of my left ear. He only feeds occasionally on the part of my brain that holds my ability to do math. This may explain why he's also starving.
