Rejection

It haunts us all, whether it's from being dumped, not getting a job, or simply losing that karaoke contest you thought you had in the bag. You knew you shouldn't have gone with "Summer Nights." There was no way you were going to hit that last note.

(This is a somewhat unfinished painting I did for the Illustration Friday topic "Rejection." Acrylic on canvas 8x10 It was fun to paint in the real world again...I'm still learning)

Ah, I've been there with Summer Nights karoake! Love his dejected body language.

I like it, he's surly and not a sad person sitting in the corner.

Well at least he gave it a go - very fun and I love his expression :)

Thanks everyone! It's still a work in progress but I'm glad you all like it so far. He's got to learn to keep trying and maybe next time pick a lower octave.

LOL!!! Great painting man. This is why I always sang in pairs or trios on kaorake night. Anyhow, I just got me a couple of canvases for the first time in years, also about 8" x 10". Still a little hesitant to tackle 'em yet though.

Hey thanks Steve! I know what you mean about the fear of getting into painting...I bought the canvas in November of last year and didn't know what to put on it....plus I was afraid of making something crappy...that said, I think you should do what I should have done and that's just jump right in. You never know what you'll be missing if you let worry take over and don't try. (Easier to dispense advice rather than take it.)
